Race For Life training part two commenced today. I probably should have aimed for improving on my distance and walking a little further today but I didn’t. By the time I got to Riverside I could feel a sore spot on my heel like I was getting a blister so I turned round and started for home. When I finally limped back to my own front door I had a full blown blister on both heels. I think I need to get some proper trainers, so far I’ve been walking in some Red Or Dead pumps as they’re the closest thing to trainers I possess. Let’s face it I’ve never been the sporty kind so I’ve never felt the need for trainers before. I’m going to have to wait until I get my redundancy money though.
On a positive note, even with the blisters and the limping, I did manage to beat my time from last week which is a step in the right direction. This week the two miles took me one hour exactly, which is three minutes knocked off my personal best (all one week of it). Next week I promise I’m going to get under an hour. I’m also going to go and buy some of those magic blister plasters they advertise on TV. I don’t know if they really work or not but I’ve got to do something because I have to walk the twenty five minutes each way to New Beginnings every day next week.
