30 January 2012 – sick note


Today I went to the doctor after a weekend of struggling to breathe and Commando nagging me. Guess what?  I have a chest infection. Flaming sir conditioning at work spreading all the germs around. I’ve got some antibiotics and I’m sure I’ll be on the mend soon. Getting fed up with being a sick note though. Continue reading

24 January 2012 – a puzzle


Today I am feeling pretty rubbish but I’m off to work anyway. We have a pretty draconian sickness policy at Mad House so everyone goes to work unless they are incapable of leaving the house and even then it’s frowned upon. 12 January 2012 – A little rant


Yesterday morning Mad House was one of the companies mentioned on a rather over the top news item. Watching, I knew it was going to feature in my phone calls. I was right. We all had a horrible day because everyone who saw the sensationalist press believed that they were entitled to some kind of compensation for things as trivial as their fridge delivery being half an hour late. 4 January 2012 – bad weather and power cuts


In the spirit of B2B I’ve changed my wake up time to make up for the new shift because I found yesterday it’s too tough to try to exercise in the evening after 10.5 hours at work and not getting in until 9 then still having to eat. I’m getting up a bit earlier to fit in some exercise and today I did some low impact Pump it Up. Might try something a bit higher impact tomorrow if the shoulder feels ok today. Continue reading
