Last night I didn’t do too badly at TGI Fridays all things considered. Armed with the information I got from Google, I stuck to the low cal choices from the menu. Ok, so they could hardly be counted as good but at least I tried. For my starter I had buffalo wings which I shared with Mitty. Thanks to Mitty’s rather vague understanding of sharing I only ate 3 which was under 200 calories. I did have the lions share of the the celery sticks as Mitty hates celery but I think that could actually be counted as a good thing. Continue reading

Not a bad day in all. Lots of exercise again plus eating well and staying within calories. Yet again I came up short by the end of the day so had to have another 25g of hazlenuts to make up the difference. Even then I was still under calories by quite a bit but I really don’t want to eat any more. Starvation mode is a worry. Continue reading

Despite a fair bit of confidence when I stepped onto the scales, which must be a first, there was only a small loss, slightly under one pound, this week. I guess I paid the price for the girls night but at least I had the whole weekend to make up for it or it might have been a gain! This morning I finished off the bark chips on the front garden and did a bit more work on the corner where the flax used to be to try to encourage the crowded out plants to grow in the right direction. My poor back and shoulders are now protesting so I guess I must have burned a few more calories. Despite it being last chance workout weekend I really do need to rest now so I’m going to sit in the garden for a while and enjoy it all. Later I have to do the weeks cooking but for now I’m resting. The weather has been nice here today so I spent most of my time in the garden again. For once there wasn’t really anything in need of clipping but I’ve weeded the front garden, rebedded the big pebbles that divide the grass from the flower beds and put on a fresh layer of bark chips. Bark chip spreading is seriously hard work and I was disappointed to see there wasn’t an entry in the exercise diary for it and I had to add it as general gardening which seemed to be way less calories than I felt I burned. After that I watered everything and stood back to admire my hard work. It is all looking really nice and the best part is I’ve burnt over 1,050 calories doing it! Continue reading

Back to the Mad House this morning but I got a lift in from Commando which cut my exercise calories considerably. Unfortunately, the huge box of cakes for the cake sale left me no choice. Well not much of a last chance work out today although I did do nearly an hour on the Wii which is good and I completed the Wii challenge. I have hardly sat down all day though so there might not be much to log in my exercise diary but I guess I must have been burning off the calories. This morning/afternoon I prepared all the meals for the week and really put some thought into what I could have that wouldn’t involve starchy carbs. Good day again. I went to the village this morning to get the ingredients for charity cakes for work then spent the afternoon in the garden clipping away.
