4 September 2011 – Almost back to normal

IMG_1585

Finally we seem to be getting Bard’s flat back to normal and with it our lives. I am very proud of him because he had always had a kind heart and is willing to lend a helping hand. Sadly, this time it caused him a bit of trouble but all is now more or less sorted out. Bard’s face is looking a lot better too. We had to buy a new toilet as his friend managed to smash the old one. Commando fitted it for him this weekend and things are finally looking more or less ok. Continue reading

24 August 2011 – My challenge for the week

20121120-190301

Today it was drizzly yet again. When was summer this year I think I blinked and missed it. Hopefully it will dry up a bit for my walk to work because `i really need to fit in all the exercise I can. I’m just about to do my morning exercise then hump day awaits. Continue reading

16 August 2011 – going in the wrong direction

scales

Definitely dark and dingy here on the south coast after such a lovely sunny start yesterday. The weather matches my mood. After couple of weeks being our of control with time off work, Commando’s birthday and lots of eating out the blasted scales are going in the wrong direction. Now is the time to get back on the wagon. Continue reading

15 July 2011 – Hangover

cocktails
Well yesterday was pretty dire at work. I had a day of horrible calls. Problems I couldn’t solve and couldn’t find out how to solve, difficult customers and generally horrible calls. I had two really bad debt calls where customers basically refused every possible option offered and kicked off big time. Some people pay nothing for over a year and then think if they shout enough we will let them off. I also had a customer who called me. C**t, I didn’t even put the phone down on him straight away but he really did upset me and I ended up crying after I finally did hang up. Luckily my boss was sitting right behind me at the time and was very supportive. I almost walked out and went home. I do sometimes wonder how I manage to keep going back for more. I did stay away from the chocolate bars in the canteen though! Continue reading

31 May – it could have been worse

scales

Sadly, my week away went all too quickly and, as we didn’t win the lottery, it’s work again for me this morning. I’m finding it hard to get back into a routine but I’m sure I’ll crack it by the end of this week though. At least I think I’ve more or less got the washing sorted now! Continue reading

25 April 2011 – Easter temptation

IMG_2722

Easter is tough when you’re trying to avoid chocolate. It’s especially tough when you have to buy eggs for other people, namely my granddaughters. We visited them yesterday with their eggs so at least they’re out of the house. We had a nice afternoon in their garden sitting in the sun on the swing seat (I really would love one of those it’s so relaxing) and I even resisted chocolate when little Bea offered to share. The nearest I’ve been to chocolate this Easter was the nutella on my low fat croissant. Continue reading

11 April 2011 – Easter Egg temptation

20120917-174338

Well that weekend certainly whizzed past! We have completed the veg patch and Commando even took some photos. It’s a very small space but I’m still hoping to get some nice veg from it and the tubs on the patio. I still have chillies to plant out but they aren’t quite ready yet and a big pot of strawberries which are just beginning to come up. Can’t wait to start eating it all. Continue reading
