9 May 2012 – light bulb moment

Finally I think I may have worked out what I did to my elbow. I was talking to someone about the girls night last week when Commando pinned a photo of the Mad House CEO up on our punch bag, lots of drunken punching went on. It was pointed out to me that that may have been when I crocked myself and thinking about it it makes sense. After all when you have been drinking you don’t always feel the pain. Oh well, lessons learned I guess. Continue reading

8 May – mystery injury

Brewed in Percolator

Back to work for me after my week off. Thoroughly enjoyed my mini break to London with Commando and he bought me a lovely Pandora football bead to remember the promotion to the premiership. We spent an enjoyable day looking in all the posh shops at things we couldn’t afford and had a lovely meal in a little tapas place. My son Philo and his partner Sirona came round yesterday to tell us all about their holiday and to give me a belated birthday present. Continue reading

7 December 2011 – trying to get back on track

20120915-135203

An almost total lack of exercise unless you count stretching and yoga coupled with weeks at home unable to do anything much have resulted in a gain. 18 November 2011 – treadmill experiment

Commando is out for a run and he’s going to football with CJ and Bard this afternoon. Last night was the Mad House Excellence Awards. I didn’t go obviously but I did get a text from my friend Panda to tell me my team won team of the year. Well done us. I hope they all had a couple of drinks for me. What am I saying. I know they did. Continue reading

16 November 2011 – physio

image70

The physio went well yesterday although it cost me ¬£30 in taxi fares as it’s quite a long way from home. I’ve got some more exercises to do and she says I’ve got to try to keep moving gently. The yoga is good. She can see and feel the muscles on the right of my neck and my right shoulder are very tight which is my body trying to protect the injury. It’s a fine line between exercise and relaxation an not doing too much too soon. Continue reading

12 September 2010 – overdoing it on two fronts

Paying for a night out

Paying for a night out

Yesterday, the worrying about eating out calories had me walking for two hours with my sandbags to earn calories just in case. It was a good job I did because I ended up eating them all plus another four hundred. This was mostly down to birthday cake and champagne, plus I didn’t want to be a party pooper. Continue reading
