This morning I decided to do a shorter walk because I still have big blisters on the bottom of my right foot and didn’t want to stray too far from home. Commando suggested the two bridge challenge, something he set for himself a while ago, although he runs it. It is about four and a half miles and crosses the river Itchen over the two main bridges. Random rest day for me today as my name was picked out of a hat to have today off due to low call volumes. So, in the best tradition of walks past, I thought I’d post about my random day off walk. Last night I decided the best thing to do with this unexpectedly free day was to go for a nice long walk. After all, I had nothing planned, Commando was asleep, and what else was I going to do? On Sunday I had a bit of an emotional day as I had a BBQ with my family which is almost unheard of. My family don’t ever get together and in fact rarely even speak to each other (mainly courtesy of my late mother who managed to fall out with most of them and cause all sorts of feuds). Anyhow, my cousin was hosting the BBQ as another cousin (who I didn’t even knw existed) was coming to the uk from Australia for the first time since before I was born. Continue reading
Finally I think I may have worked out what I did to my elbow. I was talking to someone about the girls night last week when Commando pinned a photo of the Mad House CEO up on our punch bag, lots of drunken punching went on. It was pointed out to me that that may have been when I crocked myself and thinking about it it makes sense. After all when you have been drinking you don’t always feel the pain. Back to work for me after my week off. Thoroughly enjoyed my mini break to London with Commando and he bought me a lovely Pandora football bead to remember the promotion to the premiership. We spent an enjoyable day looking in all the posh shops at things we couldn’t afford and had a lovely meal in a little tapas place. My son Philo and his partner Sirona came round yesterday to tell us all about their holiday and to give me a belated birthday present. Continue reading
Hi folks. Just to let you know I am still around just skulking in the background. After the redundancy announcement last Monday I’ve been a bit lax with the logging etc and, if I’m honest, eaten way too much. Comfort eating I know. Also had the girls from work round on Friday night and a great deal of alcohol was consumed, plus a photo of the infamous Mad House MD who came to our office on Friday and told us all how hard it was for him to close our building pinned up on the punch bag got a good beating.
