25 April 2009 – drowning sorrows in Chinese food

Chinese takeaway, not the answer

Chinese takeaway, not the answer

Well, the big day arrived and it was a pretty dejected trio (me, Commando and Mini Commando) walking across the Big Bridge to the stadium. We were in good company though, there were a lot of other miserable looking faces in the crowd. Continue reading

23 April 2009 – no losses on the scales and too many on the pitch

image

There is an air of misery in the Fat Girl house today and not just because yet another week has passed with no weight loss. The news has broken that Saints parent company have gone into administration and we are going to have ten points deducted. That would be bad enough but the powers that be have decided that, if we finish in the relegation zone (which looks pretty likely), the points will be deducted next season. It’s a no win situation. If we finish outside the drop zone, they deduct the ten points and we go down to League One anyway. If we are in the bottom three we start next season minus ten points. Continue reading

19 April 2009 – Race For Life training and blisters

Blisters!

Blisters!

Sunday 19 April

After another pretty bad week I knew I really had to do some Race For Life Training today. It’s been nearly a month since I did any and, apart from the weight issue, I’m getting worried at the lack of progress I’m making. If I carry on making excuses and not training I’m going to make an idiot of myself on the day. I mean, so far I’m not even sure I can walk five kilometres without keeling over. How embarrassing would that be? I can see the headline now, ‘fat woman dies at charity fun run.’ Continue reading

17 April 2009 – one good day then back to the cake

Oh dear, cake!

Oh dear, cake!

Well I managed one day of good eating. Yesterday I was brilliant, no sweets, no cakes, just good food in small portions. If only every day could be like that the weight would be dropping off. Even this morning things were looking good. That was until Mac got the news that all thirty of the ABC staff we interviewed have gone on to get interviews with the new computer company, Lords. He ran round the office singing, ‘we’re in the money,’ until I pointed out they were only interviews, not actual bona fide jobs. Continue reading

14 April 2009 – no weight loss but new trousers

Eggs avoided

Eggs avoided

Reasons to be cheerful. Easter is over at last so all the tempting eggs have gone from the shops and I didn’t have a single one, not even the little ones I love so much with the speckled shells that look like real birds eggs. Commando gave me some money for clothes instead of chocolate (an egg would have been a lot cheaper). I got myself two new pairs of size sixteen trousers (Wallis again so really more like eighteens). I also took a bundle of size eighteens up to the charity shop to get rid of them. I don’t want them in the house, that way I have to keep the weight off this time because I can’t afford to buy more size eighteens. Continue reading

9 April 2009 – eating out and worrying about the calories

How many calories in an omelette?

How many calories in an omelette?

We got lost going to ABC computers this morning. Mac swore he knew exactly where it was. He didn’t. After driving round the wrong industrial estate three times I gave up and got my iPhone out to Google the address. It was on the other side of the city. I wonder how he manages to find his way to work, he has no sense of direction, he’s always telling tales of getting hopelessly lost. I’d hate to be on a car journey with him AND Joe. Continue reading
